There are several momentum measures and oscillators in technical analysis of financial instruments. Many were developed in the 1960s. Things like Time Segmented Value, Money Stream, On Balance Volume.

They are all based on price and volume indicators and divergence between the measure and price.

You can google these things...these guys are into technical analysis and momentum measures.

By science, momentum is the product of velocity and mass. The rate of stock must be fast enough, and its weight (think of volume) must be big so that the momentum of the stock does not get weaker.
